HYUCX CH11PRO Drone Detectors Solve Privacy and Safety Concerns at Dutch Medium-Sized Airport
Amsterdam, Netherlands – A medium-sized international airport in the Netherlands, handling around 15 million passengers annually, has deployed HYUCX CH11PRO portable drone detectors to address growing privacy and low-altitude safety issues from unauthorized drones.
Located near residential areas, the airport had seen a year-on-year rise in resident complaints about drones invading privacy and posing risks to airport operations. To resolve this without disrupting flights, the airport chose four HYUCX CH11PRO detectors.

The CH11PRO uses passive detection technology, emitting no signals that could interfere with the airport’s navigation and communication systems – a key requirement under Dutch aviation regulations. Fully compliant with the EU EASA drone framework and Dutch GDPR rules, the detectors are deployed to cover key areas – runway extensions, apron airspace and terminal surroundings – and integrate seamlessly with the airport’s existing security system for real-time alerts.

Since deployment, the system has achieved impressive results: 89 annual drone alerts, response time under 3 minutes, false alarm rate below 10% after calibration, and successful passing of safety inspections by the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT), the Dutch civil aviation authority. It also meets the mandatory SORA 2.5 standards for drone monitoring systems, effective in the Netherlands since April 2026.
The CH11PRO’s portability allows the airport to adjust deployment positions flexibly during peak travel periods, optimizing resource allocation. "HYUCX’s solution offers a flexible, low-interference way to monitor drones, balancing privacy protection, safety and smooth flight operations," said an airport representative.
