In mid-August 2026, engineers from Shenzhen HYUCX Technology Co., Ltd. brought an overseas client team to an open field site for a live test of the TQ01 drone detector and its countermeasure link. For the client, this was the decisive step before deployment: they needed to see how the system behaves outside the laboratory — under real sunlight, real radio noise and real operating conditions.


Why a Real-World Test Decides Drone Detector Selection


A specification sheet answers "what the device can do," but a field test answers "whether it keeps doing it on site." Real low-altitude environments are full of radio interference from base stations, Wi-Fi networks and vehicle electronics, while terrain and weather affect signal propagation. A drone detector that only works in the lab is not a security device. For this reason, both sides agreed to run the test on an open roadside area with buildings and trees in the background — a realistic approximation of the client's future protection zones.


Test Setup: 360° Passive Detection, Zero Electromagnetic Emission


The TQ01 was mounted on its tripod, with the antenna array oriented and the power adapter and router connected. Thanks to the integrated design, the complete installation took less than ten minutes. The system then began scanning without transmitting a single watt of its own energy — TQ01 works purely on passive detection. This is a decisive advantage in the field: because it emits no electromagnetic signals, it creates no interference with surrounding equipment and never reveals its own position. Its 100MHz–6GHz spectral scanning covers the communication bands of virtually all consumer and industrial drones on the market.


Live Detection: Model, Frequency and Records in Seconds


The client team flew a test drone toward the detection zone. Within seconds, the TQ01 raised an intrusion alarm and displayed the target on the electronic map. The system recognized the drone model among more than 500 supported types — covering DJI, Autel, Fimi, Dahua and Yuneec, as well as FPV racing drones and self-made WiFi machines — and wrote the serial number, model and frequency into the detection record list. With a detection distance of 1–10km and simultaneous tracking of 30 or more targets, a single station kept the whole test area under watch. The spectrogram and waterfall displays let the client's engineers see exactly which frequency the drone was using at every moment.

Direction Finding and Positioning: From "A Drone Is Here" to "Where the Pilot Is"

Detection answers "if"; direction finding and positioning answer "where." A single TQ01 provides direction finding with an accuracy of about 10°, a refresh rate of 10–30 times per minute, and simultaneous direction finding for at least 3 targets. In the open test environment, the direction-finding distance exceeded 4km. When two or more TQ01 units are networked, the system locates the drone by the TDOA algorithm with positioning accuracy within 20m, and can track 5 or more flight trajectories at the same time.


After the session, the team used trajectory playback to review the complete flight path — turning an alarm into actionable intelligence for security personnel.


Countermeasure Link: Detection and Jamming in One Flow


The TQ01 can link jamming or deception equipment, so detection and countermeasures run as one automated process. During the test, once the drone's frequency was locked, the countermeasure module (5715–5860MHz band, 100W GaN output) was activated through the detection-and-jamming linkage. The module carries temperature protection and standing-wave protection with a built-in intelligent cooling system, so it sustained full output through repeated test runs without degradation. The client team watched the drone respond to the countermeasure in real time and confirmed that the whole detect–identify–locate–counter chain could be operated from a single platform.


What the Client Took Away


"Specifications give us confidence, but the live test gave us certainty," the client team leader said after the session. By the end of the day, the client had validated the TQ01's detection range, identification accuracy and countermeasure linkage in real outdoor conditions, and confirmed the deployment plan for their protection sites.
